September Movies 2019

Movies seen in theater: 2 Total

I was apparently really busy this month. Also I guess nothing really jumped out at me as a must see. Next month I will be listing every movie I watch in an attempt to watch 31 movies for the 31 days in October, but for now my mini reviews.

1) It Chapter Two (9/6/2019)

I think this movie had two things in its favor for me. I didn't reread the book right before it came out like I did for part one. Also I didn't see it opening night at a theater that serves food. It is amazing how much those two things affected my ability to enjoy this movie. I thought they got a little closer to the book with this one, but honestly it is a crazy book and I think they did as good a job as they could. James Ransone (adult Eddie) and Bill Hader (adult Richie) stole this movie for me. They were so funny and made even the scary or tense parts better. Not scary, but I guess knowing how it was going to end might have ruined that part for me. That being said, I would totally watch this movie again and would recommend it to any Stephen King fans. Overall a solid 8 out 10 for me.

2) One cut of the Dead, One Night of the Dead (9/17/2019) (Special Screening)

It is hard to describe what this movie is but I will try. A small group of people is filming a zombie movie, when they are attacked by real zombies. It is all filmed in one take with the camera never stopping. It is super low budget and is cheesy and funny. That is about the first 40 minutes of this movie. The rest of the movie shows all the behind the scenes stuff that happened leading up to and during the filming of this one cut. It is amazing! I have never laughed so much in a movie theater. Again the crowd might have affected this, in that everyone there was excited and having an amazing time. I cannot stop chuckling just thinking about some of the scenes from this movie and telling everyone I know to go and see it or to just buy it as it came out on video maybe a year ago. 10 out 10, best zombie, not zombie movie ever.

As always thanks for reading this. I am still looking for scary movie suggestions for October and really any writing prompts in general are welcome. Hope Fall is treating you all kindly as we head into the spookiest time of the year.

All my thanks,
