First Impressions (I Hope They Like Me)
An introduction to me. I am very late to the blog bandwagon. I think because I have never thought of myself as a writer. I imagine if this ends up being read by people they will agree with me. I just don't see the point in writing for myself. So at least this way I can pretend that I am writing for others. That these words are not a waste of my time but are in fact out there in the world forever.
Right, about me. I am a 30 year old white women. Sort of. I mean I am 30 and I am white, I mostly identify as a woman in that I was born with a vagina and that has never changed. I will have more complicated writings about this whole gender mess later but for now...boring old white women here about to spew a bunch of junk out onto the Internet.
Next, I am a lesbian. Whoa, I know labels and all that biz are hard and being gay in this day and age is hardly exciting news, but it as been a crazy trip for me. Again, I am sure I will have much more to say about this and LGBT stuff in the future but I am hoping to just introduce myself not scare everyone off with my feelings just yet.
I think my next big admission is I am a huge nerd. Like comic book collecting, board game playing, and book club attending level nerd. That being said I also enjoy boxing, roller derby, hiking, watching and playing sports, and of course just looking at those beautiful mountains.
Life is for keeping busy. Of course it is all just a distraction in an attempt to avoid the inevitable existential crisis, but I will save that for another day as well.
Oh...I guess there is one more side to me. One that is dark and shy and is extremely difficult to share with others in a healthy way. I don't think I'll be sharing it just yet, but that will be the goal. Exploring the light and the dark and meeting somewhere in the middle.
